St Albans City & District Council the Mayor’s Pride Awards Civic Awards Ceremony

Brophies the caterer are proud to support with the catering for the St Albans City & District Council the Mayor’s Pride Awards Civic Awards Ceremony at the Alban Arena in St Albans for 500 guest on Thursday 24 October 2013

The menu this year included:

  • Filled wraps: tuna fish with Cajun spices, light lime dressing, lettuce; Gammon with red onion, light paprika mayo, lettuce; Mexican Chicken, beans, light spicy dressing, lettuce, Guacamole, tomato, lettuce.
  • Mini filled submarines with low fat olive oil spread: Egg low fat mayo with tomato and Chives(v); Tuna cucumber & light spicy mayonnaise; Gammon ham reduced fat cream cheese; English Brie with cranberry(v) & spinach leaves and Breast chicken light pesto dressing & baby leaves
  • Selection of mixed sandwiches on local handmade wholemeal, granary and white bread with low fat olive oil spread, Tuna with Reduced fat Mayonnaise & cucumber, Cream Cheese Baby leaves (v), Houmous & Grated Carrot(v), Mature cheddar, local chutneys(v), Tuna flakes with sun dried tomato , Free-range egg low fat mayonnaise(v), Gammon ham; Roast chicken breast with tikka yogurt(LF) dressing.
  • Low fat Tzatziki and Mediterranean LF Houmous served with pita breads and Fresh vegetable sticks (v) Celery, Cucumber, Carrot, Peppers, Tomatoes, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Mange Tout
  • Crostini with Tomato, shallot and basil topping
  • Edam Cheese, ( med fat), Cherry Tomato on sticks
  • Chicken, grated Lemon rind, Coriander kebab
  • Feta, fresh corriander and Cherry Tomato on sticks
  • Tortilla Chips (LF) with Salsa dip
  • Cut seasonal fruits: honeydew and cantaloupe melon, pineapple, grapes, strawberries

This is the second time that Brophies the caterer has supported and catered this event, the awards pay tribute to generous spirited individuals and outstanding organisations, who are improving the lives of residents across the district.

The 2013 awards will be announced at an  evening celebration 

The night will be hosted by the Mayor of St Albans District, Cllr Annie Brewster JP, who will address the audience throughout the evening and the programme will be professionally compered by Kerry Cobb.

A number of guests are booked to present the awards and one of the highlights of the evening will be an inspirational key note speech Rory Mackenzie, Soldier, Atlantic Rower and Motivational Speaker.

• Community Champion of the Year.

• Cultural Innovation Award

• Young Person of Distinction.

• Community Project of the Year.

• Community Oriented Business of the Year.

• Environmental Champion of the Year.

• Voluntary Sector Award.

• Inclusive Communities Award.

The Mayor of St Albans City and District, Councillor Annie Brewster, said: “I have met many incredible people and visited many wonderful groups so it will be hard to select just one to receive the Mayor’s Recognition Award. I am sure you too can think of lots of people and groups that also deserve to receive a Mayor’s Pride Award. Please make your nominations now and ensure that they receive public recognition for all their hard work. “
